In this talk, Lucy describes how she went from simply being passionate about the issue of human trafficking, to actively making a difference.
Lucy founded “H.O.P.E. Student Awareness,” a video curriculum for students by students, empowering them to eradicate human trafficking. This was funded through a $10,000 grant from Davis Projects for Peace. H.O.P.E. focuses on sex trafficking in the United States. Labor trafficking is also a large issue in both Oklahoma and the United States. An educators’ guide is available here. Above is video #13, an interview with Kiera, an Oklahoma survivor of human trafficking. (Click to see list of 23 H.O.P.E. videos.)
