I have returned to the University of Oklahoma to finish my degree after spending the full spring semester in Washington D.C. It was a pleasure to be the “Vision 2025” intern for Free the Slaves as they worked with Deloitte Consulting to create two reports: the first on the perception of anti-trafficking efforts from key stakeholders globally, and this will inform the second that describes Free the Slaves’ most effective 10-year plan of action.

I conducted research, interviewed key anti-trafficking stakeholders, drafted sections of reports, and coordinate logistics of meetings as needed (32 hrs/wk). I answered to the FTS Executive Director and worked closely with the Deloitte team.

It was fulfilling personally and professionally to engage with the wonderful people I met and D.C. itself is also a very adventure-filled city. I am pleased to announce that I ran across Secretary of State Kerry and his mother during mass. I also found a lovely 18th st. chocolate shop called Cocova where I made (and ate) many truffles. I look forward to many more adventures in Oklahoma as I continue my degree this fall.

Back to study after a packed spring D.C. internship!
